Ladybug Ball

Like the Russian nesting dolls, I began with a black fill layer for the base of the ball and added a brush layer to paint the red pattern. I then painted dirt/dust using a grungy brush.

Squid Plush

I continued working on the plush by painting color variations and tried to make it appear soft, which was difficult. Emmalie, my teammate, recommended that I add an off-white dusty layer to soften out the texture, so I did. I do not think I would have managed texturing the squid plush without her help, so thank you, Emmalie.

Cardboard Box

At first, the cardboard box texture was just a tan fill layer with a grunge texture on top, but then I added two fill layers for the horizontal lines and creases shown. Both layers only had the height material activated. Then I created three brush layers for the water stains and tape. For the water stains, I used a watercolor brush with low opacity and varied the colors from dark tan to reddish-brown. To create the tape, I used two layers: one for the base, the other for highlights.

Russian Nesting Dolls

I changed the face on the Russian nesting dolls to match that of traditional nesting dolls. The last image shows the texture in the material channel. I previously worked on the base color channel to avoid color picking the wrong colors.
